A YMCA Camp is often a young person's first major step towards becoming an individual. Camping encourages a healthy approach to life. There is no better way for young people to learn to accept responsibility, recognise their inner strengths and develop their potential.
The YMCA believes in the value of camping as vital part of growing up and a healthy investment in the younger generation. YMCA Camps are open to all people of any sex, religion, colour, physical ability or national origin. You do not have to be a YMCA member.

Supervision
All outdoor activities are operated by Qualified YMCA Camp Adair Outdoor Instructors. Camp Leaders are selected from Youth Leadership Training Schemes and Sport & Recreation Training Establishments. A qualified First Aid person, Camp Mum, is responsible for ensuring children with special needs such as medication, diet and disabilities are catered for.
Transport
A bus service to camp is available at no extra charge. Pick up points are YMCA Greys Ave in Auckland city, Otahuhu and Papakura. Parents are welcome to drop off their children at camp if they wish.
Activities
A wide range of Team & Personal Development activities are available. The High and Low Ropes, Abseiling, Rockclimbing, Archery, Super Fox, Flying Squirrel and Kayaking give children the opportunity to challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment. Overnight Camping, Mudslide, Burma Trail and Bush Craft give the children a real taste of the outdoors. Campfire and Concert, Disco and Glow Worms are all very popular evening options. Children are required to help out with daily house keeping duties. Some activities are age and weather dependant. While all children are required to participate in the programme, activities are "Challenge by Choice".
